Abu Dhabi Ports’ multipurpose Community Ports support the needs of the local community providing infrastructure to benefit the local community’s fishing, commercial and recreational needs. Abu Dhabi Ports currently operates four Community Ports – Delma Port, Al Sila Port, Al Mirfa Port and Shahama Port in the UAE.

Cruise tourism is a fast-growing industry across the Middle East, which Abu Dhabi Ports continues to invest heavily in, providing state-of-the-art infrastructure across its terminals.

2024

  • Ports Cluster expanding its business remit to the global distribution of marine lubricants following a strategic agreement with ADNOC Distribution.
  • In Egypt: AD Ports Group strengthens Egypt’s cruise tourism by signing three concession agreements for cruise terminals at Safaga, Hurghada, and Sharm El Sheikh ports.
  • In Pakistan: AD Ports Group and Karachi Port Trust extend cooperation through a 25 year concession agreement for a bulk and general cargo terminal at Karachi Port.
  • In Angola: AD Ports Group secures a 20-year agreement to operate and upgrade the existing Luanda multipurpose port terminal in Angola

2021

  • National Feed inks a 50-year land lease for grain storage and processing facility at Khalifa Port
  • Abu Dhabi Terminals partners with Microsoft to enhance container tracking and autonomous shuttle capabilities at Khalifa Port
  • CSP Abu Dhabi becomes the first terminal in the Middle East to trial and adopt an autonomous port truck system
  • The CMA Terminals, JV is formed following the signing of a 35-year concession agreement between AD Ports Group and CMA CGM Group
  • Khalifa Port is ranked 56 on Lloyd’s List’s One Hundred Container Ports, one of the few ports to achieve double-digit volume growth
  • 5 Strategic agreements signed with Jordan's Aqaba Development Corporation to develop tourism, logistics, transport & digital infrastructure
  • The first logistics base agreement for Mugharraq is signed with ENI

2020

  • Marsa Mina is inaugurated
  • An agreement is signed with ACT to build Abu Dhabi’s first commercial bulk liquid and gas storage terminal at Khalifa Port
  • Khalifa Port is ranked 71 on Lloyd’s List’s One Hundred Container Ports and is recognised as the world’s fastest growing port
  • 3.2 million TEUs in container throughout and 30 million tonnes of General and Bulk Cargo recorded

2019

  • Khalifa Port welcomes its first 20,000+ TEU COSCO mega-vessel and Capesize vessel
  • Expansion plans for Khalifa Port are announced
  • Expansion at Mugharraq Port aimed at supporting offshore oil & gas industry commences
  • Abu Dhabi Ports surpasses over 36,000 vessel calls per year

2018

  • MSC selects Khalifa Port to serve as its regional hub in the Middle East through a concession agreement
  • A JV with Autoterminal Barcelona is formed; Autoterminal Khalifa Port is established
  • CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal is inaugurated

2017

  • Fujairah Terminals is created through a 35-year concession with Port of Fujairah and expansion commences

2016

  • The five-year Khalifa Port expansion plan begins
  • Sir Bani Yas Cruise Beach is inaugurated, the first cruise stop of its kind in the region
  • A partnership with COSCO SHIPPING Ports is formed, CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal is established

2015

  • Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal is officially launched

2012

  • Khalifa Port is inaugurated by the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan
